Pokertube: community to watch and share poker videos

August 11, 2007

image PokerTube is a video community where you can watch and upload poker videos. PokerTube is divided into two major parts “Your Films” which are all the films uploaded by members, and “From PokerTube” which is all the material from the site (interviews of well known and not so well known poker profiles, reports from big and small tournaments, worldclass card & chip tricks, documentaries and all sorts of moving images from wherever there’s a flop).

To upload a video you have to register/log-in. Once you’re registered you will have access to your own page where you can upload your videos, see all your uploaded films and activate/deactivate them.

When you upload a video you have to fill in certain fields: Title, Category and Language. You will also have to confirm that you hold all the rights for the video you’re uploading. PokerTube will screen all videos before publishing them.

Each video must be no more than 100MB with a maximum length of 60 minutes.

PokerTube accepts the following video file formats:

  • avi
  • wmv
  • mov
  • 3gp
  • divx
  • rm
  • mp4
  • mpg
  • mpeg

All Road Runner cartoons available on YouTube

July 30, 2007

It is possible to find almost any kind of video on the Internet… A YouTube user as recently published 43 cartoons of the famous Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.

If you are a fan, I suggest to hurry to watch or download them, because I don’t think this will last for long….I doubt this user has the rights to publish these cartoons on YouTube and I will not be surprised if they are removed very soon…

Below you will find all links to watch the episodes in full screen:

Peekvid: watch videos without downloading…

July 24, 2007

Did you see how trends are changing in terms of “illegal” videos on the Internet ?

First it was easy to found tons of links towards P2P (peer to peer) software  such as Kazaa or eMule. Then .torrent files swept out any other P2P solution when dealing with video downloading.

Now, new websites are streaming videos, allowing to watch them without the need to download a single file !

After TV Links, a brand new one, namely peekvid, allows to share links towards videos that will be proposed in streaming. You can of course browse through categories and watch the video you like… But is it really legal, not sure…I doubt that website owns rights to broadcast the latest series and movies…

Peekvid is also planning the possibility to upload your very own videos…but this option is not activated yet.

If you prefer to remain in a (probably) more legal area, I suggest to use Internet Television software such as BabelGum, but do not expect to find  (as for now) the latest series and movies…

Find roommates by publishing videos on the net !

July 23, 2007

This is an interesting idea to find roommates…

Visio Coloc

Indeed, looking for roommates it is hard to rely on simple classified ads. It is necessary to meet people to see if we find possible to live or at least share a flat with them. Otherwise this could lead to a real nightmare for everyone…

image

RoomLinker is a website allowing to publish videos to find roomates and take contact with possible attendees for room or flat sharing. If you are looking for a room or the ideal roommate, you can make a presentation in video, explain the way you live, and publish it for free on RoomLinker.

This is a great idea to use the potential of web videos in communicating with others !

RoomLinker is the English version of the French website VisioColoc.com.

The team behind these websites is also publishing a blog (in French) on http://www.visiocoloc.com/blog
