Streaming Rooms : multiple video streams in chat room

November 4, 2007

Streaming Room is a very strange video application:

This web 2.0 application allows to create virtual chat rooms with live video streams of your very own choice.

streaming rooms live video stream multiple ustream chat room

Concretely:

1) You create your chat room.

2) You select live video streams you want to add to your video streaming room (out of all live video streams available on Ustream.tv)

3) You can then invite friends, colleagues, partners, customers to watch video streams with you and to chat in live.

It is hard to find how this type of service can be used, but I’m sure it is possible to find interesting ideas where this web 2.0 service can bring a real added value.

Video conferencing with multiple attendees is possible with a text area. But I think profesional video conference providers are already doing far better than that…

Streaming Room could allow to follow a sportive event with different camera angles and to chat live about it with connected friends or supporters…

If you have any concrete idea, feel free to propose it within comments…

Sidereel: illegal or legal videos…make your choice !

September 17, 2007

Sidereel watch streaming videos illegal or legal divx Sidereel is a website where you can find thousands of links to watch streaming videos as on the famous TV Links or Joox, but not only. Indeed this site wants to become the reference for every type of video on the Internet, meaning contents under copyright illegaly streamed as well as legal download sites and VOD platforms.

Almost everything can be found on Sidereel : series, movies, documentaries, TV shows, cartoons, more private videos, music videos, etc…

The model is very simple: user generated content…

As you can read on Sidereel: “You’re the guide - SideReel’s success is based on contributions by users like you. The entire site is editable and anyone can add a page! Feel free to add a review, information about the cast or crew of a show, or a new page entirely. Give it a shot.”

Watch banned or removed videos from YouTube

delutube watch banned removed deleted video from youtube

“This video is no longer available” is the message you will read on YouTube video player when this video has been removed either by the YouTube (copyrights reasons or censored video…) or by the user that has uploaded the video…

Sometimes the video is unavailable but it’s still showing up in the video search results, but once again you will be prompted with a laconic “This video is no longer available” message…

YouTube watch find deleted removed video

But stay tuned ! If you really want to watch this video, there is chances that it is still somewhere cached by YouTube…in the same way as you can browse pages in the cache of Google…

delutube watch banned removed deleted video from youtubeTwo websites allow to find this “cached” videos for you:

In order to retrieve this “deleted video” you need to get the unique ID of the video on YouTube. To get this unique ID, just copy the end code of the video URL:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNIQUE_VIDEO_ID

Then you just need to paste this ID to one of the two services mentioned and if the video is still in YouTube cache, you will get it !

Google video marketplace: it’s over

August 14, 2007

Google Video On DemandGoogle introduces a marketplace to sell and buy videos on its platform Google Video. The idea was interesting: a site to sell its own videos or to buy real contents (no only videos of the neighbor following down…).

Google was even claming that this market was to increase, attracting interesting partners such as CBS or the NBA.

Now, Google announced it’s over…Google Video is still online, but don’t expect to sell or buy videos anymore…this marketplace is over (for now…?).

Actually, most people prefers to watch free contents, even though they have to see advertisements first…

Charlene Li, a Forrester Research analyst, think that this was a failure to focus on videos rather than on communities around videos, which make the success of YouTube….

But, the target was not the same maybe…and there is maybe not a place for a service between VOD and free web videos yet…

Now Google seems to focus on advertisement and free video contents around communities…

Fiction.tv: web tv for fiction movie lovers

August 13, 2007

fiction.tv cinema courts-métrages bandes annonces Fiction.TV is a very sober website as I like. This website is actually a web tv that dedicated to fiction movie lovers. You can watch this web tv right from your favorite web browser without any additional software to be installed. On the menu: all the latest trailers, as well as trailer archives.

The Fiction.TV interface is very intuitive and nice to use:

On the left we find a very simple menu. On the right a list of thumbnails is displayed: this is the list of videos and pictures that will be broadcasted within our selection. Indeed, remember this is a web tv, meaning you will not be watching only one video, but a kind of channel…

On the center of the screen you can watch this channel, or go directly to the sequence you want by clicking on a thumbnail from the right. Another click on the main screen and all the space is used to display videos…You just have to sit down, relax and enjoy the show…

A very good and intuitive example for a Web TV you can watch right from your web browser without installing an additional software.
